These photodiodes exhibit visible light or solar blind characteristics, making them ideal for monitoring 235nm and 255nm far or deep UVC LEDs.

[Latham, NY, July 24, 2024]—Marktech Optoelectronics, a leader in optoelectronic technologies, is proud to introduce its latest innovation: Silicon Carbide (SiC) photodiodes designed for deep UVC detection. These photodiodes exhibit visible light or solar blind characteristics, making them ideal for monitoring 235nm and 255nm far or deep UVC LEDs.

Revolutionary SiC Photodiodes for Superior Deep UVC Detection

These new UVC detectors are available in two hermetic package types:

The hermetic characteristics of TO-can and our proprietary ATLAS package protect the compound semiconductor photodiode chip from the damaging effects of moisture, oxygen, gases, and other vapors – ensuring consistent performance over a long lifetime. Silicon carbide is covalently bonded and has much more instrinsic temperature stability compared to silicon. They can be operated up to 170°C.

Key Features and Benefits of the New SiC Photodiodes:

“These new SiC photodiodes represent a significant advancement in UVC detection technology,” said Vince Forte, Chief Technology Officer at Marktech Optoelectronics. “Their ability to accurately detect 235nm and 255nm UVC wavelengths without interference from visible or infrared light positions them as a crucial component in any UVC monitoring system.”

Marktech Optoelectronics continues to set the standard in optoelectronic innovation by providing advanced solutions that address the complex needs of today’s design engineering professionals. The new SiC photodiodes are now available, offering superior performance and reliability for various UVC applications.
