Product Selection Guide
The team at Marktech understands first-hand the vital importance of knowing the required proper wavelengths for a given application, and how vital that data is to the proper matching of LED emitters and detectors.
With that in mind, we are pleased to present this Marktech Spectrum Selector Guide, a general reference product selection guide, to further assist our customers in making those important determinations.
Whether you are simply using an LED as a visible light source (such as on a VMS sign) or detecting the chemical properties of various materials, it is vital to understand which specified wavelengths are best for your application. Marktech, with more that 35 years of experience in the design, manufacture and testing of optoelectronics components and assemblies, can help to make the specification process a bit simpler.
The Marktech product selection guide is organized by spectral range, beginning with the 265 nm ultraviolet (UV) range, up through the 2600 nm shortwave infrared (SWIR) range. There are three main general product categories: Photodetectors, Emitters and High-Brightness LEDs. Marktech organizes its product groups by wavelengths under each category.
By simply clicking on each button on either side of the spectrum, a listing of all corresponding available standard products matching these wavelengths will appear. In addition, next to each part number, we have attached a copy of the latest product specification sheet and a link (if applicable) to the Digi-Key Electronics website, to assist you in obtaining product samples. CREE Throughhole
Cree through-hole LEDs are made with advanced optical-grade epoxy, offering superior performance in high-temperature and high-moisture environments. Additionally, the encapsulation resin contains anti-UV materials, which reduce the effects of long-term exposure to direct sunlight. With round or oval lenses and offered in a variety of colors, these LEDs have high output for superior readability-even in daylight-and are useful in various applications such as signage and channel lighting, as well as decorative and architectural lighting.
CREE Surface Mount
Offered in industry-standard packages, Cree surface mount (SMD) LEDs have high-reliability and high-brightness performance. They are designed to work under a wide range of environmental conditions, making them ideal for use in illumination applications. The wide viewing angle makes them suited for channel lettering, as well as general backlighting and illuminating applications. Their flat-top emitting surface makes it easy for SMD LEDs to mate with light pipes.
CREE P4
The Cree P-4 package design allows lighting designers to reduce the number of necessary LEDs while simultaneously providing a more uniform and unique illuminated appearance compared to other LED solutions. This is possible through the efficient P-4 optical-package design, high current capabilities, and improved thermal dissipation. High Brightness LEDs
Available in a variety of lens shapes, viewing angles, and luminous intensities, Marktech's high brightness LEDs represent some of our most popular packages and die options. These LEDs come in a broad spectrum of visible die - from 450nm to 700nm - but if you do not see the exact configuration that you need, our high brightness LEDs can also be customized to meet your application's specific needs.
CREE Starboards
Marktech offers Cree high-power Xlamps, as well as UV and infrared emitters, on aluminum core starboards for easier product evaluation in a variety of applications. Our starboards provide a quick and easy solution for designers and manufacturers to evaluate chips or components without the need to wire-bond or to create their own prototype board.
Linear Boards
Our linear boards provide a quick and easy solution for designers and manufacturers to evaluate chips or components without the need to wire-bond or to create their own prototype board. Available in numerous colors and multi-colors, as well as different viewing angles, these single LED board configurations are offered to designers as a tool to accelerate the adoption of LED technology in designs that currently use another type of illumination.
Light Rings
If your application requires high reliability and high radiant power output, but needs a compact circular footprint, a light ring may be the right LED solution for you. Available in FR-4, metal core, and ceramic, light rings from Marktech push the boundaries in terms of chips, materials, and sizes. Marktech currently produces the smallest commercially available light ring for endoscopy applications at 4mm.
Ceramic Multi-chip Emitters
Used for high-reliability indicators, switch backlighting, and panel illumination, the Marktech ceramic multichip LED series is available in a variety of colors with polarized and non-polarized configurations for AC or DC operation. These low-profile emitters contain multiple, evenly spaced chips, which combine for a consistent and wide illuminated pattern of light while consuming little power.
