Marktech Expands its UV Product Series

Marktech Optoelectronics of Latham NY has just expanded its line of ultra violet emitters to its product offering. The new devices include lower wavelengths beginning at 280nm and running up to 420nm. These emitters are available in a large assortment of metal cans, plastic and surface mount packages as well as custom assemblies (chip on board) to match application requirements. UV Emitters are widely used in general sensing applications which include airport identification and inspection equipment, coin and bill validation in addition to medical sensing and purification.

UV Emitters are an alternative to Mercury lamps in sanitation applications since Mercury lamps are highly inefficient and use harmful materials for their operations. Because UV emitters offer longer lifetimes and are highly efficient, emitters in the 265nm to 280nm spectrum range are ideal as replacements. Another popular application is for curing which utilizes UV wavelengths for polymerization. In addition because UV operates under cooler temperatures and are easily controllable the time needed for curing can be drastically reduced without damage to the scanned object.

Marktech Optoelectronics New Website Features Product Selector Guide

Spectrum Selector Guide Allows Visitors to Select Detector, Emitter and LED Products by Spectral Wavelength.

Latham, N.Y. January 14, 2014- Marktech Optoelectronics (www.marktechopto.com) introduces a fully redesigned website updated with new features and expanded product offerings.

The newly updated site now features Marktech’s proprietary Product Selector Guide. The guide allows engineers to access sensors and LEDs by wavelengths beginning at 280 UV (ultra violet) to 2600nm (shortwave infrared). Whether you are using an LED or a sensor to detect the chemical properties of various materials, understanding what wavelengths work best is crucial. The guide is highly visual, enabling visitors to see what wavelengths correspond to different points in the color spectrum.

The guide features three product categories, Emitters, High Brightness LEDs and Photo Detectors. By clicking button on either side of a particular wavelength a list of corresponding product appears along with a link to their spec sheet and Digi-key (if applicable) where you can purchase product and samples simplifying the research process.
The website also features many new products broken down in categories such as our UV marketplace which features over fifty UV Emitters ranging from 280 nm to 400nm. Multichip Emitters which allows the user to custom build their own device for applications ranging from medical to currency validation. Point Source Emitters for applications that require a precise, unobstructed light output patterns, a large assortment of die and InGaAs/InP Epitaxial Wafers ranging from 1000 nm to 2600 nm.
